Titabor Tourism

Titabor is a small town located in Jorhat district. It is situated at a distance of 20 kms from the district administrative headquarter Jorhat town.

Demography

According to the 2001 census, Titabor had a population of 110224. The average literacy rate is 81% and the population percentage of males to females is 55% to 45%.

Economy

Agriculture and tea plantation are the primary occupations of the people of Titabor. There are a certain amount of people engaged in other allied services.  There is also the Assam Industrial Development Corporation Centre in Titabor which provides employment facilities to people and development facilities for small and tiny industries.

Transportation

There are private buses which run to and fro Titabor to the different places of Assam. The nearest railway station is the Titabor Railway Station and the nearest airport is the Rowriah Airport in Jorhat.

Education

Colleges like Nanda Nath Saikia College, Borholla College and Concept Junior College provide higher education. Among schools, Borholla HS School, Pragjyotika English School and Junior College, Titabor Town High School, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Jatiya Vidyalaya etc are premier institutions for primary and secondary education in Titabor.

Politics

Titabor is the hometown of the Honorable Chief Minister of Assam Tarun Gogoi. He is the current MLA from Titabor Assembly. Titabor is a part of Jorhat (Lok Sabha Constituency).

There are tea gardens and natural beauty in Titabor which is worth watching.
